PTSD Treatment

In many ways, treating PTSD is similar to treating mild traumatic brain injury. Initially, providing a chance to get plenty of rest, a healthy diet and structured support in the form of counseling can begin the recovery process. In addition, medications can be used to help with some of the symptoms of PTSD.

Individual or group counseling is often a part of PTSD treatment. In some cases, simply talking about the traumatic event can be an important first step in dealing with ongoing anxiety.

Prescription medications can be used to treat anxiety, sleep problems and depression.
